Out of Stockton, California, the St. Mary’s High School Girls’ Basketball team is off to a commanding start to the season.
Thus far, the Rams are 12-1 currently on a seven-game win streak. Their only loss came in a 79-68 loss to the reigning national champions, Blackman. St. Mary’s has already taken down some of the nation’s best teams like Southwest DeKalb, Long Beach Poly, and South Medford.
Most recently, St. Mary’s took on Modesto Christian, as the Rams ran away with a 92-66 win. Eleven different players scored for St. Mary’s, four of which were in double digits. Mi’Cole Clayton led the way with 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Aquira Decosta followed up with a double-double, scoring 12 points and bringing in 11 rebounds. Off the bench, Naje Murray sank 10 points.
With plenty of basketball left this season, St. Mary’s looks to continue their success. The Rams are off to a strong start and are expected to finish even stronger.
